HP Police Constable Recruitment 2024-25: Exam pattern, application fee, qualifying process
Himachal Pradesh Police constable recruitment 2024-2025 is being conducted for filling 1,226 posts in Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Solan, Lahaul and Spiti, Sirmaur, Kinaur, and Chamba.
Himachal Pradesh Police constable recruitment 2024-25 advertisement will soon be published in leading newspapers of the state. The HP Police Recruitment 2024-25 notification will also be uploaded on the official website. The Himachal Pradesh Police will conduct the recruitment to fill 1,226 posts, of which 30% will be reserved for women. The recruitment will be carried out in each district headquarters by the district recruitment committee.
The HP Police recruitment 2024-25 district committees will be headed by the range Inspector General (IG) or Director Inspector General (DIG). The committee will also include one commandant of the state police battalion, who will be nominated by the DIG, district and one medical officer, who will be nominated by the district chief medical officer.
It will also have to co-opt members from a government organisation belonging to the SC or ST if these categories are unrepresented on the committee. The committee may co-opt the requisite number of government organisations or non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to assist the recruitment process.
HP Police application fee
The HP Police recruitment 2024-25 application will be available in July 2024-25, following the end of the mode of conduct. Candidates will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 300. However, women candidates, and those belonging from SC and ST categories will get a discount in application form.
The HP Police said an application form will be considered only in respect of posts of the district wherein the candidate ordinarily resides. The candidates will have to produce the bonafide Himachali certificate.
HP Police constable written exam
Applicants will be selected for the HP Police Constable written exam on the basis of a basic list, which will be based on the physical standard test. The basic list will be published on the notice board of the district SP office. It will contain name, registration number and marks scored. Only those applicants who have cleared the physical efficiency test.
The applicants will appear at the HP Police recruitment written examination 2024 at district headquarters. The examination date will be declared soon. The HP Police constable written exam 2024 will have 80 multiple choice questions (MCQs) worth 80 marks. They will have to attempt the question paper in 60 minutes.

The MCQs will be based on the Class 12 curriculum. However, the maths syllabus will be based on Class 10 syllabus.
HP Police recruitment qualifying score
Candidates who appeared in the HP Police constable recruitment 2024-25 will be selected for a suitability-cum-personality test if they secure 50% marks in the written test. Candidates from SC and ST categories will have to get 40% marks to clear the HP Police constable recruitment 2025 written exam. The result of the written examination will be put up on the notice board of the district SP office. The list will contain the marks of all candidates who appeared in the written examination.
The Himachal Pradesh Police will call three persons against each post for suitability-cum-personality test.

HP Police constable personality test
The Himachal Pradesh constable recruitment 2024-25 personality test will be of 15 marks. The candidates appearing for the personality test will have to produce all necessary and relevant documents, in original. They will also have to submit a set of photocopies of these documents.
If a candidate fails to produce any of the documents, then he will be immediately disqualified. In the personality test, each board member will award marks to each candidate. Thereafter, the average of all the marks will be awarded to the candidate.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets will be given a weightage of three additional marks for C certificate and 2 additional marks for B certificate in personality test.
HP Police constable recruitment result
The HP Police will prepare the final result on the basis of the basic list, written test and personality test. The selected candidates will have to then appear for the medical examination at the office of district chief medical officers.
An appeal against the medical report can be filed before the concerned district superintendent of police within seven days of the display of the result of the medical examination. The SP concerned shall cause a review medical board to be constituted by the chief medical officer of the concerned district. This board shall submit its report within 30 days.
HP Police constable character certificate
Candidates selected for the HP Police constable recruitment 2024-25 will have to get their character and antecedents verified by the district police concerned.

In case a candidate is found to have been convicted in a court of law, he shall not be offered appointment irrespective of the nature of the offence and the period of sentence.

In case of a candidate against whom investigation or trial is pending, the offer of appointment may be held in abeyance until he is cleared during investigation or trial, whichever is earlier. Such a candidate shall not be deemed to have become overage on this account alone.
